2026-02-05

Vitaliya Palkush, Krystyna Cherveniak, Mykhailo Povidaichyk, Anna Slyvka-Tylyshchak, Sofiia Potiuk

Blended learning distributes the load on students and promotes a convenient format for perceiving information. The aim of the study is to determine the effectiveness of blended learning for developing students’ stress resistance in crisis situations. The goal was achieved using modelling methods, observation, expert assessment, calculations of the correlation coefficient, Cronbach’s alpha. It was planned to use the digital platforms — Canvas and Classtime — to implement blended learning. This allowed students in Group 1 to focus on distance learning, and students in Group 2 to focus on classroom learning. This approach to learning allowed students in Group 1 to better develop theoretical skills (94%), and students in Group 2 to better develop practical skills (95%). The results showed that students in Group 1 were most able to reduce the level of anxiety (17%), which was associated with the flexibility of the educational process and the use of digital technologies. Students in Group 2 were most able to develop the level of learning motivation (98%), which was associated with the use of digital technologies in the educational process and the support of social ties. The practical significance of the article is the identified effective blended learning strategies for developing students’ stress resistance. The research prospects are related to identifying the advantages of blended and distance learning for developing stress resistance and motivation of 1 st and 4 th year humanities students.

REVOLUTIONARY WOMEN: A SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS OF FEMALE IMAGERY IN CULTURAL REVOLUTION POSTERS FROM AN EDUCATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

2026-02-05

Yao Yichen, Azhar Abd Jamil, Zhao Lu

This study investigates the semiotic representation of female figures in Cultural Revolution (1966–1976) propaganda posters, emphasizing their pedagogical function within the ideological and political education system of Maoist China. By applying semiotic theory, the research explores how visual elements in educational propaganda shaped collective consciousness, transmitted state-sanctioned gender norms, and served as tools of political socialization. It reveals that women were depicted as revolutionaries, labor models, and political participants—symbolizing socialist ideals of gender equality and collective identity. These portrayals functioned not merely as artistic expressions but as educational instruments designed to cultivate ideological alignment, behavioral norms, and moral exemplars for both youth and adults. The study fills a gap in previous research by analyzing female imagery through the lens of educational semiotics, highlighting how visual propaganda reinforced sociopolitical values and shaped public understanding of gender and civic responsibility during a transformative period in Chinese educational history.

The issue of Non-Suicidal Self-Injury has garnered global attention, including within the educational context. This challenge calls for a more comprehensive intervention approach, particularly within an education system increasingly emphasizing students’ holistic well-being. Traditional psychological approaches often focus on behavior modification and coping mechanisms as intervention strategies. However, these approaches sometimes overlook the spiritual dimension, which plays a critical role in helping individuals manage inner conflicts more holistically. In Malaysia, the integration of spiritual and moral values has been a key component of the national curriculum through subjects such as Islamic Education, Moral Education, and co-curricular programs, including spiritual activities such as motivational talks and spiritual camps. This study aims to explore the spiritual approaches introduced by Al-Ghazali and Ibn Ataillah in fostering individual resilience, particularly in addressing self-injury behaviors. Through a systematic methodology encompassing contemporary research and references to classical texts, this study integrates Islamic spiritual approaches within the context of mental health. The findings reveal that spiritual approaches anchored in ten core elements: repentance, fear of God, asceticism, patience, gratitude, sincerity and truthfulness, reliance on God, compassion, acceptance of God's decree, and remembrance of death. All these elements can significantly contribute to the development of strong resilience and provide a holistic framework for addressing self-injury conflicts. In the context of Malaysian education, the findings suggest the integration of these elements into student development programs, teacher training, and mental well-being modules in schools and higher education institutions. This approach has the potential to significantly strengthen emotional regulation and individual resilience, thereby extending the concept of holistic education toward achieving a balance between psychological and spiritual development. This study contributes to the advancement of holistic mental health interventions aligned with the objectives of Malaysia’s education system, which aspires to produce individuals who are intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and physically balanced.

VIOLÊNCIA E RESISTÊNCIA: FEMINISMOS DECOLONIAIS NO CINEMA DE TATIANA HUEZO

2026-02-05

2026-02-05

INVESTIGATING PRESERVICE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS’ LEVEL OF ONLINE LEARNING BARRIERS

2026-02-05

Meral Ceylan, Emin Özen

Although online learning could be perceived as a choice, it can become a necessity in time. This is the reason why teachers should also learn and practice online learning environments. Teaching English is already not easy because the use of the native language is minimal, and doing so online can be even more challenging. The aim of this study is to determine the levels of barriers to online learning among preservice English teachers. The Scale of Student Barriers Online Learning by Muilenburg and Berge (2005), adapted to the Turkish language and culture by Horzum et. al. (2017) was used in the study. 310 preservice English teachers participated in the study. Sub-factor averages, factor correlations were analyzed and diagnostic statistics about the study group were included. In the comparison of quantitative data, the t-test was used for variables with two sublevels and one-way ANOVA was used for variables with more than two sublevels. When the ANOVA test revealed a difference, Post-Hoc tests were used to determine the pairwise differences. The study concluded that the barrier factors that learners encounter in online learning environments are caused by the perceived structure, lack of interaction, and low levels of readiness for technology use.

ENTRE TELAS E PALANQUES: INTERSECCIONALIDADE, POLÍTICA E FICÇÃO – SHIRLEY CHISHOLM, DONALD TRUMP E OS REFLEXOS NA LUTA POR IGUALDADE

2026-02-05

Kenny Stephanny Souza Oliveira
